Koke scores again
Atletico Madrid kept up their title bid taking an early lead at the Calderon. Yannick Carrasco crossed low from the left and Fernando Torres had his shot charged down. The ball broke free to Koke near the penalty spot and he finished low past Andres Fernandez. It was the Spain midfielder’s fifth goal of the season and his second in as many games after scoring at Espanyol last week.
Rochina close
Granada were looking to break quickly on the counter-attack with Adalberto Peñaranda forcing a smart save from Jan Oblak. Ruben Rochina fired into the side-netting and blasted a shot against the post in the 30th minute.
Koke-Torres
Koke was involved in Atletico’s second as well. The midfielder slid a pass through the middle into the path of Fernando Torres and with only the keeper to beat, the Rojiblanco number nine lifted the ball into the net for his eighth of the campaign, and his third in three games.
Substitute Correa
Atletico coach Diego Simeone was able to rest key players, and one of the subtsitutes scored their third. Argentine Angel Correa burst away on a counter-attack and beat Andres Fernandez in the one-on-one to complete the victory with his fourth league goal of the season.
Another Clean Sheet
Atletico goalkeeper Jan Oblak finished another game unbeaten. The Slovenian stopper has played 33 matches this season and has only conceded 16 times in the Liga BBVA. He has kept 20 clean sheets.
