Atlético de Madrid (2nd, 26 pts):

- Atlético got placed second in the standings last weekend after winning 0-1 at Real Betis. It is now four points behind leaders FC Barcelona, and exceeds the third, Real Madrid, in two points.

- The "Rojiblancos" are the team than least goals has conceded in Liga BBVA with just six. It is the defense that has conceded fewer goals since the arrival of Simeone and aims to try to re-let a clean sheet.

- Last time they lost in the competition was in matchday 6 against Villarreal CF (1-0). Since then, Cholo´s men have added four wins and two draws.

RCD Espanyol (11th, 16 pts):

- Sergio Gonzalez´s returned to winning ways last weekend against Malaga. Thanks to the 2-0 victory, the Catalan team could move up in the table and now are looking to the upper part. 

- "We have to make a perfect match if we want to win at the Vicente Calderon," said Javi López at the press conference.

- Hernan Perez is Espanyol´s star man. Last weekend he scored two goals against Malaga. The Catalan team has in the striker a sure value in its front line. Espanyol´s '17' has already four goals under his belt.
