Match Facts

Athletic Club (18th, 4 points):

- Winning again in Liga BBVA is the main target for the "Leones". Since the victory against Getafe 3-1 in matchday 3, Athletic has reaped two defeats and a draw in the Basque derby.

- Defeat against AZ Alkmaar in the second round of Europa League group stage has been a major setback for Valverde´s team. Even so, remains in second place of Europa League Group L with 3 points.

- Aduriz still on a roll. The Basque striker returned to see the net against the Dutch side. He has scored already six goals so far this season, three in the league championship and three goals in European competition.

Valencia CF (8th, 9 points):

- Nuno Espíritu Santo´s team arrives at San Mamés hoping to continue the positive momentum of recent weeks. The narrow victories over Granada and Lyon have given some calm to the "Chés".

- Jaume Domenech is emerging again as a starter in Valencia´s goal. Although the Australian goalkeeper has fully recovered, the great performance of Domenech secures him a place in the team to play at San Mamés.

- Goals that are worth points. Despite the few goals that the "Chés" have scored in the league start, just three in six matchdays, the goals from Alcacer, Negredo and Mustafi are worth nine points.
