Sevilla CF return to the Nuevo Arcángel Municipal Stadium in the Liga BBVA to face a Córdoba that have earned two draws in recent weeks. The two clubs will do battle on this fourth matchday of the championship with very different objectives in mind. While the home side need momentum, Sevilla will want to stay at the top of the table to take advantage of any slip-ups by their opponents.
Team news
Córdoba, looking for their first three points of the season, go into the game with heavy losses in defence, such as Adrián Gunino, Aleksandar Pantić, Eduard Campabadal, José Carlos Fernández and López Silva. Unai Emery will have to find new solutions for the absent Cristobal Cristóforo, Alejandro Arribas, Kevin Gameiro and his two goalkeepers, with reserve team keeper Sergio Rico stepping in once again.
Views from the dugout
Manager Albert Ferrer knows Córdoba’s opponents this Sunday very well and he had words of praise: "It's a very strong and solid team; they're very well coached. Defensively they give you very few chances and they have a lot of quality up front". Unai Emery, the Seville boss, meanwhile, returned the compliment to his counterpart in the Córdoba dugout, and said: "I respect Córdoba because they have kept faith with the system that earned them promotion".
