Once again, Borja Bastón
The first minutes of play at the Camp Nou prove once again the good shape that the centre forward from Madrid is enjoying, his was the impressive at the start of the “Eibarrés” team. The effectiveness of the striker allowed Eibar to take the lead in the scoreboard and encourage its players.
Brave strategy by Eibar
José Luis Mendilibar’s strategy spread doubt in Barcelona’s team, creating some chances of danger that could have been taken advantage of by Inui and Keko. Eibar’s wings were fast and the good disposition of the Basque team made the “azulgranas” sweat to overcome the very close knit lines of the visiting team and their good defensive play.
Luis Suárez
The Uruguayan player seamlessly received a drop ball by Sandro Ramirez to score and equalized the match. From then on, Barcelona improved its control on the match and looked for Suárez and Neymar, both of them the best forwards from the local team. In the second half, the Brazilian gave a very good assist to Suárez who, after controlling the ball, scored the 2-1. In the last minutes of the match, Suárez put the icing of the cake with a great hat-trick.
Luis Suárez and Neymar, danger for Eibar
Ahead on the score, Barcelona moved the ball very quickly and with more spaces. That, together with Eibar’s tilting, made chances appear for Barcelona. First, Riesgo made a save of a weak Suárez strike, and later Neymar created a constant threat on the one on one.
Thrilling final
Barcelona wasn’t completely dominating the match so Eibar, in spite of losing the score, did not give up till the very end, creating uncertainty with some playing by Inui in the left wing. Mascherano being sent off the pitch added to the excitement although Suárez ended Eibar’s hopes with a final 3-1.
