Betis up the pace
Pepe Mel’s side took control of the ball and performed well in the opening minutes. The clearest chance came from Ruben Castro in the 15th minute, but as the time ticked by Getafe came back into the match
Chances before to halftime
Antonio Adan saved Betis in the 34th-minute with an outstanding save with his foot to deny Victor and four minutes later, Molina wasted a great chance from a Portillo pass. Vicente Guaita saved from a Pezzela header at a corner kick in the 43rd minute and almost immediately Sarabia decided to pass instead of shooting would decide to pass instead of shooting and the danger was cleared by a defender.
Alvaro Vazquez
Alvaro Vazquez put Getafe ahead eleven minutes after the break. An excellent move ended with a cross from Roberto Lago which Álvaro buried into the back of the net for his fourth this season.
Betis draw blank again
Getafe were able to control the game and Pepe Mel’s men rarely threatened. The home defence, together with Guaita’s performance, were key for the Madrid team’s victory and Betis have now gone five games without a goal in Liga BBVA.
Getafe keep climbing
Fran Escriba’s side have gone five games undefeated since they played at the Santiago Bernabeu, where they lost 4-1. Three draws and two wins have hauled them away from the relegation positions and above misfiring Betis.
