Another edition of the LaLiga Promises is set to be staged between 2 and 5 June and there really couldn't be a better way for the action to get started than with an opening game in which 20 children will share a pitch with their idols. One of the teams will include the LaLiga country manager in the United States, Raul Gonzalez; Liga BBVA ambassador, Fernando Morientes and Julen Guerrero, whilst the opposition's side is set to feature Liga BBVA ambassadors, Carles Puyol and Marcos Senna, plus Gica Craioveanu. The lineups will be completed by 10 children on each of the teams. The encounter is due to take place on 2 June at 20:00 CET, just hours after the presentation of the 25th PAMESA LaLiga Promises National Tournament, which is being staged in Villarreal.
Joining the six former stars on each team will be 10 under-12 players, four of whom will make the starting XI, with the remaining six beginning the game on the bench. A policy of roll-on, roll-off substitutions will be in place to allow all of the youngsters the chance to strut their stuff alongside their idols. The 20 teams doing battle for the tournament title will be represented, with each of the players involved belonging to one of the participating teams.
The game is scheduled to be played on pitch one of the Pamesa Ceramica training ground (Villarreal, Castellon) on 2 June at 20:00 CET, and just like the rest of the games at the tournament, entry will be free. For those supporters unable to attend in person, the match will be broadcast on LaLiga's official YouTube channel and on beIN SPORTS.
