Alcacer saves a point at Mestalla

Rayo Vallecano started dominating possession and controlling the game. The away side cornered Valencia in their own half and insisted in hitting first. Miku was close to doing so after a side cross which he headed against the crossbar.

Rayo Vallecano get ahead
The away side kept their hope of getting ahead on the score and their reward came shortly after the fifteenth minute. A great team play left Embarba without opposition down the wing, from where he crossed the ball for Jozabed to bury into the back of the net. With this goal, the Andalusian has now scored six and he is the second top goal scorer for his team behind Javi Guerra.

Double saving Ryan
The home side were going through some rough moments at the start of the second half and the Scotsman Ryan stood up to save his team twice. Outstanding interventions which gave his team a chance in the game. It became even more important when, a minute later, his team equalized the game.

 

Negredo
The Madrid striker wasn’t finding himself comfortable in the game, but his quality was enough to see Juan Carlos far ahead from his goal and, after recovering the ball, shoot over the keeper to draw the clash. It was a sensational goal that reactivated his team.

Llorente
With hardly any time to react, Rayo Vallecano got ahead once again. Diego Llorente made the most of a corner kick to put the ball in the top right corner with a first touch.

Alcacer rescues Valencia
Neville decided to bring the Torrent striker on for Alvaro Negredo. Constant like always, the Valencia number ‘9’ only had to push Bakkali’s cross into the back of the net to score the 2-2. With this goal, the home side were able to extend their undefeated home streak, which is now on 22 games (30th November 2014).
