A meeting of mid-table outfits eyeing shot at Europe

Neither the San Sebastian side nor the Andalusians are happy settling for mid-table. Both are targeting victory at Anoeta to stay in the battle for European qualification.

Team News:

- Real SociedadIllarramendi, Jonathas y Elustondo (suspended); Zurutuza, Bergara, Oier, Canales y Carlos Martínez (injured).

- Malaga CFCamacho, Miguel Torres (suspended); Chory Castro, Juan Carlos (injured).

Match Facts:

Real Sociedad (9th, 33 pts):

- They are searching for a fifth win on the spin after beating Real Betis, RCD Espanyol, Granada CF and Athletic Club. The last of these results was extra-sweet, coming as it did in the Basque derby.  - With three victories and a draw from their last four home games, Real Sociedad are revelling in playing in front of their fans.

- The absence of Jonathas through suspension is both a blow and a challenge for coach Eusebio. The Brazilian has scored in each of his last two outings and his burgeoning partnership with Mikel Oyarzabal and Carlos Vela has been a key factor in La Real stringing together four straight wins for the first time this season.

Malaga CF (12th, 31 pts):

- They currently sit two points behind this weekend's opponents, meaning a win would be enough to take them above La Real in the table.

- After earning a point at home to Real Madrid, Malaga head back out on the road to what has been a happy hunting ground for them this term: the Basque Country. Their last away victory came against SD Eibar, and they also claimed a share of the spoils against Athletic at San Mames.

- Having struggled to score goals on their travels at the beginning of the season, Javi Gracia's side got into their groove and notched in five away matches in a row. That run came to an end in Villarreal, so they will be particularly keen to hit the back of the net at Anoeta.
