Both Rayo Vallecano and UD Almería desperately need to pick up points on matchday 32 in the Liga BBVA. Paco Jémez’s side, 12th in the table, need to win so they can mathematically secure survival, while the Andalusians also need a victory to move further away from the relegation zone.
Team news
Rayo Vallecano manager Paco Jémez has recalled midfielders Álex Moreno and Alejandro Pozuelo to his side in place of Javier Aquino and Emiliano Insúa, while academy goalkeeper Álex Campos has been called into the squad, but Portuguese winger Licámisses out. Almería meanwhile are without Emiliano Insúa, Míchel Macedo, Fran Vélez, Verza and Fernando Soriano through injury.

Rayo are still haunted by their 6-1 thrashing they received at the hands of RC Celta last week and Jémez is keen to see his side return to winning ways. "We have to have a mix of wounded pride and the knowledge that we can do things better", he said. Almería coach Sergi Barjuán meanwhile explained what his side need to do to win. "We aren't capable of matching them in possession but if we manage the halves well, we can beat them".
