The Andalusian side will want to forget their defeat last time out against Real Sociedad (4-3), however in front of them they have third-placed Atlético.The visitors, meanwhile, are hot on the heels of second-placed FC Barcelona, and a win at the Ramón Sánchez-Pizjuán will help keep them in the title hunt.

The home side's manager Unai Emery has said he is confident in his side's ability: "We are looking to use the game as a chance to get to 48 points in front of our fans. Irrelevant of who the rival is, we are confident at the Sánchez Pizjuán. With everything it gives us, we will have more chances against a great Atlético side".
His counterpart Diego Simeone said that their opponents are "a side in good form, and have been working continuously for two years and have an equilibrium that makes them very competitive. It is an important game for where we are in the league campaign".
