- He began his career in the Antiguoko, a club from which many players have emerged.
- Antiguoko maintained an agreement with Athletic Club, which after watching him signed him for their U-18 team.

- Scored his first goal in Liga BBVA with 18 years a week after his debut, on May 15, 2005, in the match that Real Sociedad lost 1-3 against Malaga CF.
