Yan Couto named LALIGA EA SPORTS Under-23 Player of the Month for December

Yan Couto has won the LALIGA EA SPORTS Under-23 Player of the Month Award for December, an accolade awarded by LALIGA in partnership with Sorare. Girona FC’s Brazilian youngster was one of the top performers in an excellent month for the team managed by Michel, signing off on two assists.

There is no doubt that the 21-year-old defender has been one of this Girona team’s standout players and he showed us why once again in December. Against Valencia CF, he provided the assist for Cristhian Stuani to level the scores at 1-1. Then, in the massive win over Deportivo Alaves which saw the Catalan outfit regain the top spot, he put in one of his best ever performances in the competition. He provided the assist for Portu to make it 2-0 and won the penalty which Artem Dovbyk converted to ensure they ran out 3-0 winners.

The Girona number 20 wins the LALIGA EA SPORTS Under-23 Player of the Month award after coming out on top in the final voting ahead of Jude Bellingham (Real Madrid), Nico Williams (Athletic Club), Julian Araujo (UD Las Palmas) and Take Kubo (Real Sociedad).
