UD Almería have one final chance of picking up three points to secure safety in the division on matchday 38 of the Liga BBVA. However, the home team will also be relying on results to go their way elsewhere in their bid to stay up in the division. Their opponents, Valencia CF, will also be in search of a win that would guarantee them fourth or even third place, although just like their upcoming rivals, that would depend on how other teams fare during Saturday's action.
Team news
Los Che will be without the suspended Rodrigo Moreno for the last game of the season, as well as André Gomes, who recently underwent surgery to overcome an injury he sustained against RC Celta. Meanwhile, the Andalusians will have to make do without the injured Francisco Vélez and Ximo Navarro, as well as the suspended Ángel Trujillo.
Views from the dugouts
"We all know what's at stake and the football has to compensate us for everything we've done during the last few games. They believe in what they are doing and understand that it will be a very open encounter between two sides in need of a win", was how Sergi Barjuan referred to the match and his players.
Nuno Espírito Santo, the Valencia coach, stated that he is only focused on "beating" Almería: "My only concern is finishing as high up the table as possible. We are solely focused on winning this game. I’m very optimistic. The faith I have in these players forces me to say that with hard work and a team spirit we'll be successful".
