La Liga is one of the most watched leagues in Africa for many reasons but the most notable one is the sleek style of football that comes with goals galore that thrills the fans.

Barcelona's tik-tak football that has the players playing short and quick passes, dominating possession for long periods of the game as well as a free flowing build up to goals is a classic beauty to watch every weekend.

Compared to other leagues in the world, it is not everyday that you see teams scoring more than four goals, that is an exception but just last weekend, Cristiano Ronaldo scored five goals in a 6-0 win over Espanyol to become Real Madrid's top scorer surpassing Raul.

It gets better that the best player in the world who has won the FIFA Ballon d'Or has come from La Liga since 2010 for five consecutive years with the other eight of 10 nominees coming from La Liga and only two from the Bundesliga in Frank Ribery (2013) and Manuel Neuer (2014).

Everyone wants to get a glimpse of Lionel Messi and Ronaldo. They are such a beauty to watch.

Thankfully, Supersport TV makes this possible by showing La Liga games across sub-Saharan Africa and adjacent Indian Ocean islands in 50 countries and no matter the time of the day, fans will converge around television sets in their houses, bars or restaurants to enjoy La Liga games.

They don't just stop at watching the game but engaging their friends on social media networks twitter, facebook and instagram, boasting at how their teams are doing well but mostly it is a battle and competition between who is the best player – Messi or Ronaldo. That argument will never end.

Also notably is the presence and success of African players in La Liga as according to the statistics, they contribute up to six percent.

West African nations contribute the most players to La Liga and it should be noted that players like Yaya Toure, Michael Essien, Mali's Salif Keita, Mahamadou Diarra, Frederic Kanoute, Seydou Keita and the sensational Samuel Etoo who finished as La Liga top scorer for two consecutive seasons. He is still Mallorca’s all-time top scorer with 54 goals.

Nigerian Ike Uche who has been in La Liga for 12 years is one other player whose legacy keeps Africans hooked to their screens.

Morocco's Mustapha Hadji who featured for Deportivo La Coruna and Espanyol and is currently working with the national team as assistant coach left behind an impressive legacy.
