Previously… Forward Santiago Ezquerro Marín (Calahorra, La Rioja, 1976) began his career at Club Deportivo Calahorra, before going on to turn out for At Osasuna, Atlético Madrid, RCD Mallorca, Athletic Club and FC Barcelona.

His achievements… Ezquerro played for FC Barcelona for three years, from 2005 to 2008. He earned a handsome medal haul during his first season at los azulgranas (2005/06), winning the UEFA Champions League, the Liga BBVA and the Spanish Super Cup, a trophy the Catalans retained in 2006/07.

After hanging up his boots… Having returned to Osasuna, the club where he learned his trade as a professional, the man from La Rioja retired as a player in June 2009. However, he remained involved in football, gaining his coaching badges and starting to play for the FC Barcelona veterans’ team in Spain’s indoor football league.

Did you know… He won one cap for Spain in 1998. The match was Javier Clemente’s last as national coach, with the side losing 3-2 to Cyprus.
