UD Las Palmas will face R. Zaragoza in the return leg corresponding to the final phase of the play-off to win promotion to the Liga BBVA. Following a long season, both sides will be summoning their last burst of energy for the last game of the campaign. Ninety minutes to decide which side will put the icing on the cake and leave the Liga Adelante and attain promotion. The first leg ended 3-1 for the Aragonese side, which means that the Canary Island side will have to make a comeback in a clash of titans where Ranko Popović’s side will aim to defend the result they earned at the Romareda.

Team news

Paco Herrera, manager of the home side, will be without Vicente Gómez, his sole injury, as the Canary Island midfielder is injured and will not be back to peak form for another five weeks. As for the Aragonese side, the Zaragoza manager has called up his entire squad for what could be a historic moment following a tough season. As such, 22 Aragonese plyers will travel to the stadium in Gran Canaria, although four of them will have to watch the game from the stands.

View from the dugout

The manager of the Canary Island side, Paco Herrera, stated that despite the bad result in the first leg, his side are "really motivated". Herrera highlighted the role of the fans in this regard, as they are "really behind" the side: "They will transfer their hopes through to us, and I believe that had to come back. I was very excited and we are going to give everything to achieve the objective".

On the other hand, Popović, manager of the Aragonese side, stated that Zaragoza had a "great opportunity" as the side had worked "a lot" and had been through many "difficulties" in order to reach the final. The manager of the Aragonese side added that his side are mentally prepared: "We will go there with humility, but we are clear that this is the key game. There is nothing before or after".
