Real Betis vs Real Mallorca
In the 18:15 kick off, a lip-smacking match between these two top-flight perennials. Betis will be looking to build on their 2-0 win last week against UE Llagostera. In fact Valeri Karpin’s side, who have turned things around after a poor start to the season, will be looking to make it five wins in a row.
The home side are without Álex Martínez, Álvaro Vadillo and Nono. Their coach, Juan Merino, pointed to his side’s defining characteristics. “Our fans will always get fight, impetus and intensity from us.” Karpin has a full squad for the journey south, and the Estonian underlined the importance of the three points: “Winning there would give us the confidence that we could go anywhere and win.”
Albacete B vs Real Zaragoza
The Carlos Belmonte Stadium sees the visit of a Real Zaragoza side who last week welcomed in a new manager with a 4-1 win over SD Ponferradina. The Belmonte is becoming something of a fortress, however, after back to back wins there over Osasuna and CD Leganés, 2-0 and 1-0 respectively.
The Manchego side’s boss Luis César pointed to what he saw as the key to the match: “The most important thing is that we don’t make too many mistakes.” And his opposite number had this to say: “Zaragoza are a talented, top quality side.” For his second game in charge the Zaragoza coach travels to Albacete with a squad that includes Diego Suárez and Sergio Gil, but not the injured Rubén, Mario or Vallejo, nor Cabrera or Dorca, both of who are suspended.
