FC Barcelona won their 24th Liga BBVA title today, Saturday, with a 3-0 victory away to Granada CF, a win which rounds off a superb season for Luis Enrique's men. Below we unravel the figures behind the feat.
The Catalans finished the season on 91 points, with 29 victories and 112 goals to their credit, making them the highest scoring team in the Liga BBVA 2015/16 with an average of three goals per game. Of those 112 goals, 42 came in the first halves of their games, and the other 70 went in after the interval. Furthermore, 56 of them were scored with a right foot, 44 with a left foot, nine of them were headers, and just three were turned into their own net by their opponents.
Ninety of the 112 goals scored by Barcelona were netted by their lethal attacking trio composed of Lionel Messi, Luis Suarez and Neymar. The Uruguayan finishes the season as the top scorer in the Liga BBVA 2015/16with 40 goals, whilst Messi scored 26 times and Neymar netted on 24 occasions.
