The Calming Effect from the Bench
Coach Sergio Egea has bestowed his personality on the team. The Argentinian coach has managed to hold firm on his ideas and has given the team the calmness required for the strong need to get up to la Liga Adelante. He’s had the great ability to manage the rhythm of the season and end up with a prolific goal scoring capacity (77 goals) and defensive solidity (37 goals).

A Solid Club
Last year Real Oviedo went through financially delicate moments which almost led to their disappearance. Once they’d recovered, and made the best squad possible for the 2014/15 season, the Asturian side proved to be very solid during the whole season. This allowed them the win the title with various games still to be played before the end of the season, and finish up on 80 points, eight points ahead of the second placed team.

Experienced Players
Esteban, Generelo, Susaeta and Héctor Font are just some of the players who have played in Liga BBVA teams and they’ve given Oviedo the necessary experience in order to meet their target. An example of this was the good know-how shown by goalkeeper Esteban in the difficult play-off tie against Cádiz CF, which ended up winning promotion for Oviedo.

Offensive Potential
This is a team made of the fabric of champions. And that’s how it turned out. Solid at the back and effective up front. Linares has been the top goal scorer with 27 goals in 36 games. Supported by Borja Valle (9 goals) and Susaeta (8 goals), the centre-forward from Zaragoza has been the difference in Segunda División B, which is a very competitive league.

The Fan base
The amazing impact of everything done by Real Oviedo can be seen in the stands. Countless blue shirts have supported the team at all away grounds in the division, and of course they also have great attendances at all the home games played at the historic Carlos Tartiere stadium, which now has 16,000 ‘carbayones’ season ticket holders.
