We take a statistical look at the opening 19 rounds of matches in the 2015/2016 season

different leaders have sat atop the Liga BBVA over the opening five months: SD Eibar, RC Celta, Villarreal CF, FC Barcelona, Real Madrid and Atlético Madrid.

483 goals were scored in the first half of the season. 

38 goals were scored on Matchday 8 making the middle weekend of October the most prolific of the campaign, when FC Barcelona beat Rayo Vallecano 5-2, R.Sporting and Granada CF drew 3-3 and Getafe CF beat Las Palmas 4-0 among other high-scoring games. 

players have played every minute of those opening 19 games: Cristiano Ronaldo (Real Madrid), Diego Godin (Atletico Madrid), David Simon (Las Palmas), Sidnei (RC Deportivo) and Roberto Rosales (MalagaCF). 

52 is the number of goals scored by Real Madrid, more than any other side.

8 goals conceded by Atletico Madrid was the fewest by any team.

RC Deportivo were the draw specialists after  of their games finished with honours even. 

15 goals each from Luis Suarez and Neymar Jr. put the FC Barcelona strikers at the top of the Liga BBVA scoring charts. 

39 points for Villarreal CF, after 12 wins, three draws and four defeats, was a new club record for the first half of a campaign.

(10-2)was the result of the highest scoring game of the first half of the season when Real Madrid beat Rayo Vallecano at the Santiago Bernabeu in December.
