: I remember when we were told that we'd be going on the #LigaBBVAExperience, I just couldn't believe it. I'd get to travel to Spain, attend the Granada CF v FC Barcelona game and explore Granada, a city I'd never visited before, and get to do all of this alongside my son, Idan. We were full of expectation before the trip, but best hopes were far exceeded.
Everything was fantastic and I'm really not exaggerating when I say that the #LigaBBVAExperience has changed both of our lives. Initially, we were a little shy, particularly my son, but as the days passed, we began to feel at home, thanks to the way we were looked after. All of my thanks will really never be enough.
Granada folk are different, they're a special bunch. Right from the off, we got a feel for their warmth and the kind nature that they're renowned for. As for the city itself, no words can do it justice, we loved it, Granada really did leave us speechless. That goes for every last corner and street, but in particular the Alhambra. We'd already been told all about it, but it was far more impressive than I imagined it would be. Every corner of Granada is enshrined in my memory, as well as being stored in my camera. What a special city!
But, without doubt, the highlight was the football. Upon our arrival, LaLiga had the first of the surprises ready and waiting for us, each of us got both teams' shirts, plus they gave us scarves and face paints… boy, did I enjoy seeing my son savouring each of the presents! I'll never forget the big day, the day of the match. We saw Barcelona lift the title, which was really exciting for us. Things got underway much earlier on though, we had lunch with the Granada and Barcelona supporters' clubs, where we were welcomed in as one of them. There was plenty of laughter and singing and no shortage of football. I would go back time and time again! We really were very privileged to have had the chance to experience the whole thing at such close quarters.
But there was still more to come, I still haven't been able to quite take it all in! The Nuevo Los Carmenes stadium swept us off our feet. Being able to set foot out on the pitch, right next to where the players were warming up was particularly special… they were so close to us. The 90 minutes were packed full of emotion, nerves and euphoria. Each Barcelona goal and every Granada chance saw us unable to keep our emotions in check, we were just like all of the other supporters inside the ground. Everything was just perfect, but the surprises didn't stop there. At the end of the game, we got to meet the Granada players, wow! My son has come away with a shirt plastered in autographs and I leave here with a feeling of immense joy after having seen him so happy.
We visited the city, watched a live flamenco performance, tucked into some of the most typical Andalusian dishes and were given a first-hand experience of Spanish football. Seeing my son this happy has made me the happiest person in the world. For this reason and for many others, I want to say thanks, thanks and thanks again, #LigaBBVAExperience
