LUN 21.12.2015

1. Denis Suarez took his first footballing steps with O Porriño, a team from Pontevedra in North West Spain.

2. He was already causing a stir when playing in the Under 10s. He was moved up to compete   against older players thanks to his quality and self-confidence.

3. He joined RC Celta de Vigo in the Under 12s category. He was spotted by Toni Otero, former director of the "Celeste" academy and current sporting director at CD Lugo

4. According to Otero, Denis learned to defend with a curious exercise: he was forced to win ten tackles before being allowed to join the attack.

5. He never played an official match with the Celta first team, but he did in take part in         some friendlies. The first was on 2 February, 2010, against Ourense (1-3).

6. After his time at Manchester City FC, Denis Suárez returned to Spain aged 19 to play in the Liga Adelante. He joined FC Barcelona B, and in season to remember, scored seven goals and helped them to a third-placed finish.

7. Andres Iniesta and David Silva are two of the players he admires.

8. He scored two goals in a game for the first time in his Liga BBVA career against Real Sociedad. He once scored a brace in the Liga Adelante when FC Barcelona B defeated Hercules CF 5-0.

9. One of his strengths is his versatility. When Denis Suárez was a kid he played as a right back with O Porriño and in his professional career he has developed to play as an attacking   midfielder, a right winger, and even as a 'false nine.'

10. He has represented Spain with the U17s, with the U19s, when he won the 2012 European   Championship in Estonia, and the U21s.
