R. Zaragoza – R Valladolid CF (Estadio de La Romareda, 12:00)
Sunday gets underway with a game that is more Liga BBVA than Adelante, and both sides have hopes of making the playoffs. The home side have two new names in their squad: youth team player Carlos Nieto and Jesús Vallejo, who returns from injury. Valladolid have three players out injured for the tie: Alejandro Alfaro, Sastre and Roger.

CD Lugo - SD Ponferradina (Estadio Ángel Carro, 12:15)
Both sides go into the match with a number of players missing. Lugo's coach Quique Setién will be without Carlos Coz and Luis Fernández, while Jonathan Balley and Pelayo Novo are doubts. The big miss for the visitors is Pablo Infante, although Monolo Díaz will welcome back Alberto Aguilar.

CE Sabadell – RC Recreativo (Estadio Nova Creu Alta, 17:00)
It is a must win game in Sabadell with both sides in need of taking all three points. The home side's manager, Álex García, spoke about the form that the teams find themselves in: "Recreativo are in a difficult situation, but the players will forget about that when the game starts and they will make things difficult for us. We both need the points".

Sporting, Betis and Valladolid will try to make things difficult for Las Palmas at the top

AD Alcorcón – Real Betis (Santo Domingo, 18:15)
Pepe Mel's second spell at Betis starts in Alcorcón. The man from Madrid is looking to continue the run of the side that has won their last four games. "To get promoted we have to win, win and win. We don't want our fans to be disappointed".

CD Tenerife – R. Sporting (Estadio Heliodoro Rodríguez López, 19:00)
Tenerife will be looking to celebrate the New Year by becoming the first side to down Sporting, who are the only Liga BBVA and Adelante side yet to taste defeat.  The Canary Islander's coach, Álvaro Cervera, will be without Carlos Ruiz through suspension and the injured Unai Albizua. Abelardo Fernández is without the injured trio Álex Menéndez, Rachid Aït-Atmane and Carlos Castro.

R. Racing C. – CD Numancia (El Sardinero, 21:00)
Racing are looking for a win that would allow them to leave the relegation zone against a mid-table Numancia side. The Cantabrian side's boss, Francisco Fernández, has emphasised how up for the game his side are: "We have to believe in them. They want to get the year off to the perfect start. We don’t have any doubts that everyone will give everything for Racing and secure safety in Liga Adelante".
