Granada hits an early goal
Granada CF’s intentions were clear from the start whistle. Foulquier hit the first in the third minute after a good pressing on Betis. He got Westermann in trouble and stole the ball, sprinted forward to the area and hit the ball under the goalkeeper.
Shared chances
Both teams made the Andalusian derby an exciting match. Adan had to intervene in several occasions to avoid the local team getting ahead in the score, and in the 33th minute Betis had a goal disallowed.
Betis got the draw by penalty
Just before halftime, Rubén Castro managed to get the draw by scoring a penalty. The goal came in the 40th minute just when Granada was beginning to rule the match. Thus, the “verdiblanco” striker adds up a total of five goals in his tally.
Strong defense by Granada
The Granada defenders performed an impressive second half and managed to put an end to Betis’ good play. The visiting team did control the ball but did not put Granada in danger.
Intense final minutes
Very exciting final minutes of the match turned into a shootout. Thievy had a clear chance in minute 85 but he was offside. On other hand, Betis never stopped trying and did get Andrés Fernández in trouble several times. The score stayed the same during the second half and points were shared by both teams at the Nuevo Los Cármenes Stadium.
