Sevilla FC downed Córdoba CF 1-3 in the fourth round of Liga BBVA. The away side rack up their third win in a row, while the home side are yet to win this season.
Sevilla started well, with Carlos Bacca forcing Córdoba goalkeeper Juan Carlos into an excellent save. It was the Colombian who scored his side’s first goal soon after, following an error from Aleksandar Pantić as the Serbian tried to clear the ball.
From then on, Córdoba ventured more into Sevilla’s half, spurred on by Fidel and Borja García, but they could not change the scoreline from 0-1 before the break. In the second half Córdoba tried again to level things, but it was Unai Emery’s side that doubled their advantage. After a terrific cross from Denis Suárez, M’Bia found the back of the net with a header.
In the closing minutes of the game, Borja García grabbed one back for ‘Chapi’ Ferrer’s men, giving hope to the Estadio Municipal Nuevo Arcángel faithful. But another error from Pantić saw him take down Vitolo in the box, allowing Bacca to put the game to bed from the spot, scoring his fourth goal in four games in the process.
