The Estadio Ramón Sánchez Pizjuán hosts one of the best fixtures in the 30th round of Liga BBVA on Wednesday. Fifth placed Sevilla FC host second placed Real Madrid.
For the first time since the 2013/14 season started, Sevilla FC will defend their place in the European spots in Liga BBVA. Their win over CA Osasuna last time out lifted them to fifth place, moving them closer to their final objective. This is how manager Unai Emery put it: "We only have the objective of maintaining fifth place". The coach also added "to beat Real Madrid you have to play a perfect game". Sebastián Cristóforo and Denis Cheryshev will miss the game through injury, whilst a late call will be made on Daniel Carriço.
Real Madrid, who lost top spot following their defeat by FC Barcelona at home, will be looking to use this game to bounce back. Carlo Ancelotti explained that “there’s no time to think about what happened”, adding "the game against Sevilla is important and dangerous as they're in good form". The Italian said the side "were fine before the Clásico and remain so". They will go to Seville without the injured trio Álvaro Arbeloa, Jesé Rodríguez and Sami Khedira, whilst Ángel di María and Sergio Ramos are suspended.
