Getafe CF secured an important 2-0 win against RC Celta de Vigo at the Coliseum Alfonso Pérez, allowing them to climb up the Liga BBVA table.
In a match with a slow start, both teams cancelled each other out, but it was Getafe who little by little started to take the initiative, however it must be said that Yoel Rodríguez had little to do in the Celta goal. We had to wait until the dying minutes of the half to see the best action of the half so far, Rafinha went close for Celta, whilst Robert Lago looked dangerous for Luís García’s side.
It was in the 44th minute that the game’s opening goal arrived through Lisandro López, giving the home side the advantage going into the break 1-0. In the second half Getafe pushed on, and in the 51st minute they made it 2-0 as Álvaro Arroyo put away Pedro León’s corner. Getafe seemed content with the score, and Luis Enrique’s Celta tried to cut the deficit to no avail.
In addition to losing the game, there was more bad news for Celta as Carlos Bellvís had to leave the pitch after fifteen minutes after clashing heads with Diego Castro.
