SD Amorebieta make history with promotion to LaLiga SmartBank

SD Amorebieta will never forget 22 May 2021. After beating CD Badajoz in the play-offs for promotion to LaLiga SmartBank, the Basque side will compete in the prestigious competition next season for the first time in their history.

The hard graft over the course of the campaign has paid off. Amorebieta produced an immaculate performance in the play-offs after reaching this point as one of the revelations this season. After dispatching Linares Deportivo, they managed to repeat the feat against Badajoz, one of the big favourites to go up.
