SCTV secure LALIGA rights for the Vietnamese market

SCTV will now broadcast exclusively all 380 LALIGA EA SPORTS matches for the next five seasons. The broadcaster cements its position as the home of LALIGA in Vietnam.

SCTV has reinforced its commitment to streaming the world’s best football by securing the exclusive Vietnamese rights for one of the biggest football leagues in the world: Spain’s LALIGA EA SPORTS.

The multi-year deal to stream LALIGA EA SPORTS gives SCTV all 380 matches and a range of other highlights, weekly previews, news and review programmes. Having held shared broadcasting rights since 2018, from this season onwards SCTV will be the exclusive home of LALIGA in Vietnam for the next five seasons until 2027/28. SCTV will also broadcast selected matches from Spain’s second tier, LALIGA HYPERMOTION, as well as the entire series of play-off matches which determine the final promotion place from the second to first tier.

SCTV, which is a standard bearer for digitalisation and technology in the country, have broadcast all major sports in Vietnam over the past 10 years, including badminton, golf and tennis, as well as LALIGA EA SPORTS and the Bundesliga (2012-2020). Through this partnership, SCTV have cemented their position as the home of the world’s best players such as Robert Lewandowski, Vinicius Junior, Thibaut Courtois, Pedri, Antoine Griezmann and recent arrivals Ilkay Gundogan and Jude Bellingham, week in, week out, with many more joining a growing collection of superstars.

LALIGA has also been home to Asian football legends over the years such as Takashi Inui (SD Eibar, Real Betis and Deportivo Alavés), Shinji Okazaki (SD Huesca and FC Cartagena), Kang-In Lee (Valencia CF and RCD Mallorca), Wu Lei (RCD Espanyol), and currently features Takefusa Kubo (Real Sociedad) and Gaku Shibasaki (CD Leganés).
