Saved by the crossbar

Getafe slipped the first goal in after 15 minutes, but luck was on the Andalusian side. A clearance by Granada's defense put the ball in front of Mehdi Lacen, who, without a second thought, pulled a powerful volley from his hat that slammed into the crossbar.

Fran Rico makes his mark

It was the Andalusian team that ended up lighting up the board, thanks to a goal from Fran Rico at the 27th minute. A cross from the right wing by Miguel Lopes was used by the Galician footballer, who stumped Guaita with a header. Never before has he managed to score with his head in a La Liga game.

Getafe's arch rival

Playing against Getafe CF is always a treat for Youssef El Arabi. The Moroccan striker had scored six goals in six games against the Blues before Saturday's match, a streak that now continues, after making it 2-0. A shot from Rochina was blocked by Guaita and, like lightening, El Arabi stormed in to knock the ball into the back of the net at the 36th minute.

The Blues fight back

Fran Escribá's substitutions in the second half paid off for Getafe. Stefan Scepovic and Moi Gómez had their chance to turn the match around, and they did. In just three minutes, between the 71st and 74th minutes, the Blues were able to equalise, thanks to goals from the Serbian striker and the midfielder from Alicante.

Rochina's genius

The clash was settled with a masterpiece from the Valencian player, who managed to fix the score at 3-2 in the 77th minute. When his team needed him most, Rochina drove home a powerful shot from outside the box, against which Vicente Guaita could do very little. It was madness at Nuevo Los Cármenes, after a much needed goal that secured three vital points for Granada, which is struggling to keep away from relegation
