Following a long and exciting January on the transfer front, the winter window slammed shut on Friday night with some eye-catching returns and the odd surprise grabbing the headlines.
One of the dominant themes on deadline day was players returning to former clubs, with Yannick Carrasco renewing old acquaintances at Atletico Madrid, Edgar Mendez in familiar surroundings at D.Alaves and Miguel Angel Guerrero back on the books at CD Leganes.
Indeed, Leganes were one of the busiest clubs in the window's final 24 hours, with Sevilla FC's Bryan Gil and Ibrahim Amadou both checking in at Butarque, along with Ivory Coast hotshot Roger Assale.
There were also some big deals done between LaLiga Santander clubs, as well as players making the step-up from LaLiga SmartBank. Levante UD secured the services of RC Deportivo shotstopper Koke Ruiz and former Getafe CF defender Bruno Gonzalez, whilst Los Azulones brought in Levante's Erick Cabaco. Elsewhere, Oier Olazabal left the Estadio Ciudad de Valencia to sign for RCD Espanyol.
Meanwhile, Granada CF, R. Valladolid CF and SD Eibar all seized the opportunity to bolster their squads. The Andalusians boosted their attacking options by welcoming Gil Dias to the club, Valladolid added to their midfield ranks with the signing of Matheus Fernandes, whilst Rafa Soares has been recruited to sure up Los Armeros' defence.
