Rayo Vallecano downed Granada CF 0-3 in round 35 of Liga BBVA. Goals from Saúl Ñíguez, Joaquín Larrivey and Seba Fernández were enough to secure Rayo's 13th win of the season, as they move up to ninth. The Andalusians, for their part, remain on 37 points and are still not sure of safety.
It was the home side who started stronger, moving the ball well and regularly creating chances. Youssef El Arabi was the main threat for the nazarí, creating their best chances. After the Andalusian side's terrific start, Rayo got into the game, winning possession, although they didn't test the opposition's keeper.
Granada started the second half as the commenced the first, hitting the bar through El Arabi, but Yacine Brahimi's red card in the 51st minute deflated Lucas Alcaraz's side. With numerical advance, Rayo took control, scoring twice in five minutes. Saúl opened the scoring in minute 54, whilst Larrivey made it 0-2 just before the hour. Seba Fernández confirmed the win four minutes from time for Paco Jémez's side.
