Raul de Tomas is a leader on the pitch who has set very high standards with a lethal touch in and around the area. After coming up through the Real Madrid youth academy, he has flourished on loan spells at Cordoba, Valladolid and most recently, Rayo Vallecano, who he joined in 2017.
Over the last season in LaLiga 1l2l3, the 23-year-old has netted 24 goals. Although that may not seem like an astronomical figure, it takes on greater significance when compared with the club's records. Until recently, Rayo Vallecano's top goalscorer in a single campaign had been Fernando Morena in 1979/80 with 21 goals, but the current number 22 has since scooped that accolade and become a key component of Michel's side in the process.
One out of every three Rayo goals bears his name, but his talent is not restricted to getting on the scoresheet. He has racked up three assists to go alongside his 24 goals, with his ability to link up with his teammates to such devastating effect ensuring he has recorded career-best statistics this season.
A fantastic campaign has not only been crowned with promotion, but the Spaniard has also picked up two individual awards along the way: the LaLiga 1l2l3 Player of the Month for February and the LaLiga 1l2l3 Player of the Month for April.
A wonderful rapport has developed between the player and the fans, who have witnessed how the 23-year-old has fired the club to LaLiga Santander, the top flight of Spanish football. His powerful shot with both feet, trickery in the box and eye for goal have seen him become one of the most dangerous players in the division.
