An incredible match brought proceedings to a close in La Liga Adelante Matchday 13. Real Zaragoza and Real Betis drew 2-2 on Sunday's vibrant final match.
A great and intense match at the Romareda. The home side had the lion's share of possession, retaining the ball for long periods in midfield, while Betis played on the counter. That was the state of play when the Maños carved out the first chance of the match, Willian José taking a shot from distance before Rubén Castro gave a sign of what was to come. Ten minutes before the break, forward Vincenzo Renella finished off a sweeping counter attack to give the Béticos the lead.
Both teams shot out of the traps in the second half, three goals coming in quick succession. Willian José made it 1-1 from the penalty spot, before an unlucky Leandro Cabrera re-established the visitors' lead. In spite of the blow, Zaragoza stayed true to their attacking brand of football and were rewarded, Pedro Sánchez thundering home to make it 2-2.
So a point apiece, leaving the sides as they were before the start of play, with one point separating them in the table.
