R Valladolid CF already have their first three points of the year after beating R. Zaragoza with two goals from Óscar González on Liga Adelante matchday 19. The victory consolidates their position in the playoff zone and puts the side from Aragon just outside the promotion spots.
Valladolid made the most of the first danger they created by scoring after just 2 minutes of play. A host of chances for David Timor, Johan Mojica and Jeffren ended with the ball at the feet of Óscar, whose clinical finish was enough to beat Whalley. The same happened fourteen minutes later, when the Blanquivioletas' academy graduate rifled the ball into the back of the net for his brace.
Zaragoza, who were suffering in midfield, attempting to turn things around with changes in the centre of the pitch, but they were unable to cut the deficit, despite two good chances before the break.
It was a similar story in the second half. Pedro Sánchez's imagination and headers from Leandro Cabrera and Borja Bastón were not enough to get them back into a home match against a Valladolid who took confidence from two early goals and now look like a strong candidate for automatic promotion to the Liga BBVA.
