Osasuna and Córdoba slow down adding excitement to Liga Adelante

Balanced forces at the top of the table in the 10th matchday of Liga Adelante. Both Osasuna and Cordoba didn’t get a win, but Valladolid did and thus gets off the bottom of the table.

Bilbao Athletic 0-0 SD Huesca

Although there was no scoring at San Mamés, the match was exciting. There was a constant exchange of hits throughout the 90 minutes but, finally, the points were divided in between the two teams. With the draw, Huesca remains undefeated at home and now has been unbeaten for five matches in a row. Bilbao Athletic adds another point at home and will have to wait till the next match to win.

AD Alcorcón 6-1 UE Llagostera

Alcorcón outplayed the Catalonian team with a final 6-1 in the score after a match they had already won by five goals before halftime. A full-fledged David Rodríguez scored a hat trick and is the top scorer in the category; Oscar Plano scored two headers. The match looked good for Alcorcon in the first minutes, on the 7th Fernando was fouled inside the area and David Rodriguez scored from the penalty spot. Llagostera scored its only goal in the last minutes of the match.

Elche CF 0-0 CD Leganés

The clash between the teams from Elche and Madrid ended, after a close fight, with a scoreless draw. The crowd at the Martinez Valero Stadium watched a match dominated at times by the visiting players but it was the home team that had the best chances to uneven the score. Leganés is still unbeaten and keeps six matches adding points. Elche remains halfway the table after getting one more point.

D. Alavés 3-2 Córdoba CF

The six match’s lucky streak of the Andalusian team has ended: they have been beaten by Alavés after five victories and a draw in Liga Adelante. The home team didn’t give up although they had the score against them twice with Andone and Fidel’s goals. They managed to draw thanks to goals by Toquero and Pacheco and turned the score around during injury time with a third goal by Pelegrin in minute 92.

Girona FC 0-0 R. Zaragoza

After a draw to nil at Montilivi against Zaragoza, Girona still has had no victory at home since the season begun. This was a match with little chances, and with better defensive lines than attacking.

RCD Mallorca 1-0 UD Almería

The Balearic team takes off with a victory over a direct rival: Almeria. “Chapi” Ferrer’s team have manage to add eight out of twelve points. The only goal of the match was signed by Brandon. That left the Andalusians, once more, out of the last places in Liga Adelante’s table. Their new manager, Joan Carrillo, did not get a victory on his debut match.

CD Numancia 1-1 Nàstic

The play-off clash was resolved with a draw during injury time, when De la Espada scored a penalty shot for the Catalonian team. The team from Soria, that managed to draw the score with a goal by Álex Alegría and had searched for victory, had to settle with a draw.

SD Ponferradina 4-2 R. Oviedo

An exciting shootout was the match between Ponferradina and Oviedo although, in the end, the points stayed in El Toralín. Both Oviedo’s goals were penalty shots by Néstor Susaeta that, after opening the scoring, fell under Berrocal and Caiado’s goals and the unfortunate own goal by David Fernández.

R. Valladolid CF 2-1 CD Mirandés

Valladolid won once again and got out of the bottom of the table playing against a fighting Mirandés that did not manage to add a point at the José Zorilla stadium in spite of Abdón Prats scoring its only goal in minute 93. Juan Villar and Rodri scored for the locals.

Albacete B. 2-0 CD Lugo

Rubén Cruz won a victory for Luis César Sampedro’s team. His two goals are worth much more than three points: the team moves up in the table away from the bottom. The team from Galicia will have to wait for the next match for a chance to add points.

CD Tenerife 2-2 At. Osasuna

The day ended with an intense match that finally was resolved in a draw and didn’t allow Osasuna to get ahead as sole leader of Liga Adelante. Roberto Torres opened the score, and later Omar scored the draw. The “rojillo” captain Oier Sanjurjo’s goal set the 2-1 and, during injury time, Germán Sánchez won a vital point for the Canary Island’s team.
