With respect to the upholding of the appeal in the Olmo and Víctor case.

Official Statement

LUN 07.04.2025

LALIGA has filed a contentious-administrative appeal and requested precautionary measures against the resolution issued by the Higher Sports Council (CSD) on April 3, 2025. That resolution upheld the appeal submitted by FC Barcelona and ruled as follows:

“…to uphold the appeal lodged by Mr Pere Lluís Mellado Bailo, acting on behalf of FCB, and the players of said club, Mr Daniel Olmo Carvajal and Mr Pau Víctor Delgado, thereby annulling the decision of the RFEF-LALIGA Coordination Agreement dated January 4, 2025, not to grant the preliminary visa and final license requested by FC Barcelona for the aforementioned players. It is also understood that said players hold valid licenses, in accordance with the legal grounds outlined”.

In this regard, LALIGA understands that the resolution seriously violates the regulatory framework concerning financial fair play and the processing of sporting licences. It undermines the general interest of the competition and compromises its integrity by violating the principle of equality between clubs. All of the above justifies the need for an urgent judicial response. The requested precautionary measures aim to guarantee the competitive balance and financial sustainability of professional football.
