Numancia secure survival versus Deportivo

CD Numancia overcame RC Deportivo 2-1 in one of the matchday 40 games in the Liga Adelante. Through a Miguel Palanca goal in the dying moments, Juan Antonio Anquela's side confirmed their survival in the competition.

In an intense and lively first half, it was Numancia who started putting their opponents under pressure with several moves on goal. After Sergi Enrich hit the crossbar, the side from Soria found their reward in the 22nd minute with a Francisco Regalón header from a corner. However, Numancia had no time to enjoy their lead with Luisinho managing to equalise soon after when he finished off a great move from Bryan Rabello.

The second half started with complications for the Galicians when Antonio Núñez was sent off after receiving a second yellow card in the 60th minute. Under an intense barrage, Fernando Vázquez's side stood up to the Numancia onslaught until Miguel Palanca managed to tip the balance in his team's favour. The Catalan midfielder made it 2-1 with seven minutes to go, sending the crowd wild at the Nuevo Estadio de Los Pajaritos, where they celebrated their survival in style.
