LFP.es have chosen their favourite goals from the 2013-14 Liga Adelante. While the initial selection was made by Axel Torres and Julio Maldonado 'Maldini', who chose their favourite ten goals from each division, the fans were then able to vote and they decided that the best three goals from last season were the work of Jorge Morcillo (RC Recreativo), Pedro Sánchez (Córdoba CF) and Aridane (CD Tenerife).
However, only one of them will be able to call themselves the author of the 'Best Goal of the 2013-14 Liga Adelante' on 27 October at the LFP Awards Ceremony, which can be followed at LFP.es.
Surprisingly the goals from the three nominees all came in the later days of the championship, when all the players dig deep to produce their best football, and that of their teams, for the final stretch of the season.
Such was the case of RC Recreativo, who fought until the end for a place in the playoffs and, although they failed to get there, they have the honour of one of their men being nominated for this award. Jorge Morcillo scored one of the goals of the Liga Adelante against Real Jaén CF. The defender picked up the ball well outside the box and simply rifled his shot into the back of the net.
Matchday 36 also witnessed a goal that will go down as one of the best in the history of Córdoba CF, who were hosting CD Mirandés that weekend before sealing their promotion to the Liga BBVA. Pedro Sánchez received the ball, brought it under his spell and shot on the turn, finding the far corner of the net to score one of the best goals of the championship.
The goal from the final nominee also found the top corner. Canary Island forward Aridane Santana celebrated a spectacular strike on matchday 34 of the 2013-14 season against SD Eibar when he received the ball, reached the edge of the box and curled it into the back of the net. The goal received the universal recognition of fans and gave the island team victory to (1-2) against the championship leaders.
