The balance of their teams depended on their work in midfield. Fighting spirit, heart and, above all, football, run through their veins and they are the cornerstones of their teams. Juan Domínguez, Carlos Pita and Sergi Samper are the players nominated for the prize for the 'Best Midfielder in the 2013-14 Liga Adelante'. It will be in the 'LFP 2014 Prize Gala', to be aired on La Sexta (10.30 pm) that the winner will receive his reward for his hard work during the 2013-14 season.

RC Deportivo's great season in the 2013/14 Liga Adelante, ending in automatic promotion, was epitomised by one player on the field: Juan Domínguez. The midfielder, a product of the Abegondo academy, took on the responsibility of guiding his team after the departure of Juan Carlos Valerón, and he certainly stepped up to the task. A total of 39 games, 38 of them in the starting eleven, are proof of the ability of this Galician player who also contributed with goals, another necessary facet for a midfielder.

Carlos Pita also appears in the list of nominees for the Best Midfielder in the 2013-14 Liga Adelante, an award that will round off the winner's last season in the 'LFP 2014 Prize Gala'. Pita accumulated 3,175 minutes on the field in the last campaign as a permanent fixture in the line-up of the team managed by Quique Setién, which secured survival for the second year running in the Liga Adelante. The player from Coruña represents the stability of a team that wants to make a name for itself in the Liga Adelante.

In this list of players in contention for the award, youth, a bright future and progress are represented by Sergi Samper, a La Masía footballer who dazzled spectators last season with FC Barcelona B. In his first year with the Barcelona reserves, Samper played 2,568 minutes in 40 matches and emerged as an assured player despite his young age: 19 years.
