Nahuel Bustos named LaLiga SmartBank Player of the Month for March

Nahuel Bustos has been crowned the LaLiga SmartBank Player of the Month for March. The Girona FC sharpshooter brought goals and pivotal performances to the table to help the promotion pretenders to a dream month, in which they racked up four wins in as many games to put themselves firmly in the play-off mix.

The hitman’s contribution in the attacking third in this run of games was nothing short of sensational, with his four strikes ensuring that Girona recorded a clean sweep of wins.

The Argentine ace was at the double in the 3-1 victory at promotion rivals UD Las Palmas and he repeated the feat in the team’s next outing, a 5-1 romp over UD Ibiza, in which he completed his brace with the deftest of chipped finishes that is sure to be in the running in the goal of the month stakes.

Nahuel succeeds UD Almeria goal-getter Sadiq Umar, who captured the Player of the Month award in February. The Girona front runner claims the distinction after overcoming R. Zaragoza’s Ivan Azon and CD Mirandes hotshot Sergio Camello in the voting.
