On Sunday morning, March 16th, Real Zaragoza announced in an official statement the dismissal of Miguel Ángel Ramírez as coach, Juan Carlos Cordero as sporting director, and their respective teams within sports management and coaching staff.
Since his arrival last December, the Canary Islands coach Miguel Ángel Ramírez managed to secure only 7 points out of a possible 30, achieving just one victory in 10 matches. The last victory of Real Zaragoza in the league competition under his leadership was on January 26th.
Saturday's 4-1 loss to UD Almería proved to be the turning point, prompting the Aragonese club to change course in hopes of improving the team's precarious position in the final stages of LALIGA HYPERMOTION. Currently, the team is in 18th position with 36 points, on the verge of entering the relegation zone of the standings.
While awaiting the announcement of the replacements for the bench and the sports management, Real Zaragoza expressed its gratitude for "the dedication, professionalism, effort, and work' demonstrated by Juan Carlos and Miguel Ángel during their tenure, wishing them success in their future endeavors."
