Sevilla FC got back to winning ways with a 4-1 triumph over RC Deportivo thanks to a Stéphane M'Bia brace, as well as a goal a piece for Carlos Bacca and Víctor Machín 'Vitolo'. Haris Medunjanin managed to level the score line temporarily, but the home side’s effectiveness in front of goal began to dictate the course of the game.
The first half battle between the Andalusians and the Galicians was an electrifying affair and, above all else, was full of goals. A slow start to the match was followed by the home team taking the lead through Stéphane M'Bia. The Cameroonian, who has been in scoring form of late, headed home from a corner to claim his second goal in four days. However, despite not threatening much in attack, Deportivo managed to pull level courtesy of a fantastic Haris Medunjanin free kick. Sevilla went ahead again just before the break through Carlos Bacca.
The second half played out in much the same way as the first, with the home team convincingly imposing themselves on the game due in big part to poor defending from the Galicians. M'bia found the back of the net again to get the first brace of his professional career before Vitolo killed off the game. The win catapults Sevilla up the table, while Deportivo have still not managed to find their groove this season.
