Real Madrid have suffered a last minute injury ahead of Wednesday’s first leg quarterfinal tie in the UEFA Champions League. Marcelo will miss the game after being diagnosed with a grade one tear in his left hamstring, an injury he picked up during training.
Carlo Ancelotti will be without the Brazilian defender, who has played in 23 Liga BBVA matches this season, for Wednesday night’s match against Borussia Dortmund (20:45) in the Santiago Bernabéu. It looks as though the left back will also have to sit out Real Madrid’s next Liga BBVA fixture in Anoeta against Real Sociedad this Saturday (20:00).
