If there is one date circled on the LaLiga calendar that is el Clasico and Miami is going to celebrate it in style. It comes as no surprise that Mahou and LaLiga are teaming up to take the game to the sunshine state.
Margaret Pace Park was chosen to host the event, whilst Mahou will be the lager of choice inside the fan zone that LaLiga will set up for the game between FC Barcelona and Real Madrid, which will be shown on a giant screen in conjunction with beIN SPORTS. The prestigious Spanish lager will be served exclusively in a marquee which will boast a large VIP area and will give away rattles, giant foam hands, flags… all sorts of accessories to liven up and set the scene for a game that will be watched all over the world.
On top of that, those present inside the fan zone will be able to enjoy all manner of games to test their skills in front of goal, as well as take part in an exciting foosball tournament organised by Mahou and LaLiga. It is going to be a wonderful way to enjoy the game which is receiving extensive media coverage in Miami.
Mahou's Clasico mission in Miami
Mahou will spice up the Clasico screening in Miami with a social media campaign, exclusively for fans at the Margaret Pace Park, to highlight the importance of sharing football with friends.
We will ask users to share a photo on Twitter using the hashtag #Sharingisbeering which encompasses the concept of sharing. The user with the best photo will win a LaLiga kit at the end of the game.
Rules of draw
1) The way the draw works will be explained to users on Twitter.
2) In the build-up to the match, information on the draw will be shown on the screens.
3) During the final 10 minutes of the first half, the winner of the draw will be chosen and revealed in a tweet mentioning the user. A message will be displayed on the screen explaining that the winner has been chosen, so that those in attendance can be sure the draw has already been made. The decision to choose the winner well in advance has been made for several reasons. This method will ensure all in attendance will know that the brand has gone through with it and awarded the prize and will also avoid a scenario where the winner leaves the event without picking up the prize.
4) We will post a photo of the winner with the prize on our global Twitter account.
5) A community manager will be active during the event with the aim of bringing the action to life and resolving any possible queries users may have. They will also be entrusted with choosing the winner and informing both the winner and the person handing out the prize.
