The Liga BBVA's most consistent teams, FC Barcelona and Atletico Madrid, face off in a top-of-the-table clash at the Camp Nou on Saturday. Luis Enrique's side top the standings on goal difference from Atletico with both sides tied on 48 points, though the Catalans have a game in hand.
Barca have used 23 players so far this season whereas Atletico have only used 21.
In Diego Simeone's side three players have featured in every Liga BBVA game so far: Jan Oblak, Antoine Griezmann and Diego Godin. The Uruguayan defender is a key figure for his coach and has played a total of 1,890 minutes, the same as as Oblak. Both have played every minute possible. The French forward has played a total of 1,861 minutes.
It's a similar story at FC Barcelona. Luis Enrique has a great deal of confidence in his Uruguayan striker Luis Suarez. The forward has become a key figure and the numbers prove it. As with his compatriot Godin, Suarez is the outfield player who has played the most minutes for Barca: 1,710. Second in line is Sergio Busquets with 1,589, and then Neymar with 1,527. On top of that, Luis Suarez is the top scorer in Liga BBVA with 18 goals so far.
The 1,710 minutes disputed in Liga BBVA by the Barca striker, and the 1,890 played by the Atlético defender, prove how much trust Luis Enrique and Diego Simeone have in the fitness and commitment of their Uruguayan internationals.
