Lopez Muñiz takes over as new Alaves manager

Following a string of poor results, D. Alaves have made the decision to part ways with manager Asier Garitano, as confirmed on Sunday via their official website. 

 

Since the return of football last month, the Babazorros have lost 6 out of 7 matches which ultimately condemned Garitano to his fate. Despite his sacking, the club wished the outgoing manager every success in the future and thanked him for his "professionalism and dedication" whilst in charge.

 

Juan Ramon Lopez Muñiz will take over the hotseat for the remaining four matches of the LaLiga Santander season, with his first match away at leaders Real Madrid on Thursday evening.
