The qualification of seven Spanish teams for the group stage of European competitions, in addition to its good results in the last five years, have placed LaLiga clubs ahead in the UEFA rankings for club competitions for the third consecutive year.
With four wins, a draw and a defeat, the first matchday of the group stage ended with Spain leading the standings and also with an increase of 18,250 points lead over second-placed Germany. England and Italy are in third and fourth place, being along with Spain and Germany, the four countries that exceed 60 points.
Furthermore, Spain is close to another record. With 86.427 points, it could become the first country to exceed 100 points after the Spanish teams achieved 99,999 in 2014/2015 season.
