UE Llagostera 2-1 Bilbao Athletic
Oriol Alsina's team knew this was a must-win, although 'Cuco' Ziganda's charges could say the same thing in a crucial clash between two direct rivals. The first half ended goalless, but Bilbao Athletic's top goalscorer Ager Aketxe opened the scoring with a rasping drive just five minutes after the restart. The home side needed to dig in and produce a stunning comeback, which began in the 69th minute when Yeray scored an own goal to equalise. Benja completed the seemingly impossible job just two minutes later when he kept his aplomb when through one-on-one. The Nou Municipal de Palamos crowd burst into raptures and Llagostera are now just three points from safety.
CD Mirandes 1-0 SD Ponferradina
Alain Oyarzun opened the scoring for Mirandes in the 26th minute with what would prove to be the only goal of the game. It was an evenly contested match throughout, although the three points ended up staying at the Estadio de Anduva, as Carlos Terrazas's side racked up a second straight win on home soil and strengthened their bid to qualify for the playoffs. Ponferradina were unable to replicate their victory over Llagostera last time out and remain in the lower regions of the table.
UD Almeria 1-1 AD Alcorcon
A moment of magic by Jose Angel Pozo with four minutes remaining in the first half earned Almeria a point when the 20-year-old finished off a fine move. Chema had put Alcorcon ahead in the 34th minute when Casto could only parry a David Rodriguez shot. Almeria squandered several second-half opportunities to clinch all three points, but luck was not on their side.
CD Lugo 1-1 Girona FC
It was a point apiece at the Angel Carro which left both teams with a bittersweet taste in the mouth. The Catalan side dominated the first half in terms of possession and chances created, while the hosts came into their own after the break. Eloi Amagat put Girona ahead in the 33rd minute, but Pablo Caballero equalised 10 minutes later.
CD Leganes 4-0 R. Valladolid CF
CD Leganes got back on track with a blistering performance to the delight of the home faithful. Asier Garitano's side are not enjoying their finest run of form, having gone four games without a win. They got back to winning ways against Valladolid with first-half goals by Guillermo and Gabriel setting them on their way to a comfortable 4-0 victory. Lluis Sastre and Alexander Szymanowski added some gloss to the scoreline after the interval.
R. Zaragoza 2-1 RCD Mallorca
Mallorca struck first at La Romareda, but Zaragoza responded well by dominating possession and reversing the scoreline. Manuel Arana put the visitors in front with a thumping right-footed shot in the 10th minute, but Albert Dorca levelled with a powerful header from a Manuel Lanzarote free-kick before the break. It was a case of more of the same in the second period, with Dorca once again capitalising on a Lanzarote free-kick to clinch his brace and what would prove to be the winning goal.
SD Huesca 2-0 Gimnastic
There was a shock in store at El Alcoraz. Huesca stopped Nastic in their tracks, ending the visitors' 12-game unbeaten run. Christian made the most of a goalmouth ricochet to open the scoring in the 11th minute. The second goal came on 62', when Alexander Gonzalez's lovely outside-of-the-boot finish sewed up the three points for the hosts, who got back to winning ways after four consecutive defeats.
Cordoba CF 2-3 Albacete
This was a real rollercoaster ride of a match, the sort that is a delight to watch for the fans and especially for the neutrals. Albacete upset the odds to come away from their trip to the Nuevo Arcangel with the spoils and they did so in barnstorming, dramatic fashion.
Portu beat the offside trap to give the away team the lead on 27 minutes and they would take this advantage into the break. However, Fidel levelled proceedings from the penalty spot 10 minutes into the second period, before prolific forward Florin Andone completed the turnaround for the hosts – or so they thought. The Cordoba faithful were jubilant, but it was not to last, as Portu doubled his tally and made it all square again after 81 minutes. In a breathless finale, Jorge Pulido popped up in the 93rd minute to seal a most precious, and unlikely, triumph for Albacete.
D. Alavés 2-2 CD Tenerife
A thorn in the side by the name of Nano thwarted Alaves. The attacker denied the Basques the three points by notching up his second goal of the game just four minutes from the final whistle. Nano had earlier put the visitors' noses in front in the 13th minute, only for Juli to equalise 12 minutes later. Alaves stepped it up a gear in the second half and Sergio Mora fired them ahead on 47'. The Mendizorroza faithful were all set to savour the sweet taste of victory when that man Nano, Tenerife's top scorer, struck again to earn his side a point.
R. Oviedo 1-0 CD Numancia
Following their loss to Athletic Club B last weekend, only a win would do for Oviedo this time round in order for them to keep in touch in the title race. They got the job done, although they had to wait until the 82nd minute to find the breakthrough, before which it had been a frustrating affair for David Generelo's men. With the clock ticking down, Toche slotted past Juan Pablo to make sure that the three points stayed at the Carlos Tartiere.
At. Osasuna 0-0 Elche CF
A goalless draw at El Sadar left neither side going away particularly happy. Osasuna found Elche on top form defensively once again, although Enrique Martin's team had their fair share of chances to scoop maximum points. Alex Berenguer and Nino both tried their luck in vain, but the closest the hosts came to a winner was Oier's header, which thumped off the crossbar.
